As I am beginning a fresh semester, my last semester of college, a clean sweep and organization day is crucial for survival. Being an elementary education major usually leads to the accumulation of so much stuff- books, games, papers, books, lesson plans, learning tools, binders, arts & crafts, and more books. I'm not complaining...I love having my own personal Barnes & Noble in my room, but it means staying very organized all the time.
Although some people think I was already ridiculously organized, (with a bookshelf of almost 200 DVDs in alphabetical order) I cannot stand to have so much stuff and not be able to see all of it and know what I have. (Obviously this picture looks like I'm really messy, but this was during the process.) So, in order to fulfill my clean room expectations, I organized...all day long.
I had notebooks from so many previous classes that I had to sort through and/or throw away. For my major, we have to keep certain assignments for various portfolios and notebooks in order to graduate, so I've been holding onto so many notebooks. After organizing all of my bookshelf belongings, I assembled (hammered, screwed, and everything!) a new bookshelf together. I have to say how impressed I am with myself, and now my room is organized and ready to begin my final semester!
For my picture of the day, I chose my messy room rather than my finished product because it's hard for me to believe that it started out looking like this. As I write and glance over at my new beautiful white shelves, I feel inspired to begin reading, working, and starting my new internship!
